Privacy Policy
[Company legal name] ("Right Hook", "we", "us") runs right-hook.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, why, who helps us process it, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
Information you send us
When you use the contact form or email us, we receive what you choose to share: your name, work email, company, the type of project, a budget range and your message. We use it to reply, scope your project and, if we work together, run it.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages are useful. It records things like pages viewed, referring site, device and browser type, and approximate location (country or city) derived from your IP address. We do not use it for advertising, and we do not combine it with information you send us.
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, analytics stays off until you click Accept. Everyone can change their choice at any time with "Cookie settings" in the footer.
Technical data
Like any website, our host processes your IP address and basic request data (time, page, browser) to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse.
Cookies and local storage
If analytics is on, Google Analytics sets first-party cookies named _ga and _ga_*, which last up to 2 years. We store your cookie choice in your browser's local storage under rh-consent. We use no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
How we use information
- To answer inquiries, prepare proposals and deliver projects.
- To understand and improve the site.
- To keep the site secure and prevent spam or abuse.
- To meet legal, tax and accounting obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
Legal bases (EEA, UK and Switzerland)
We rely on your consent for analytics, on steps you ask us to take before a contract when you send a project inquiry, and on our legitimate interest in running and securing the site and replying to messages.
Who helps us
We use a small number of service providers that process data on our behalf and only for these purposes:
- Cloudflare: hosting, content delivery and security.
- Resend: delivering contact form messages to our inbox.
- Google: Google Analytics, only when analytics is on.
- Our email provider: storing correspondence with you.
We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, or to a successor if the business is sold or merged.
International transfers
We are based in the United States, and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. For transfers from the EEA, UK or Switzerland, we rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where a provider is certified, or on Standard Contractual Clauses.
How long we keep it
Project inquiries are kept for up to 24 months after our last exchange, unless we start working together, in which case we keep project records for as long as the engagement lasts and as required for legal and accounting purposes. Analytics data is retained for 14 months.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or receive a copy of your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. Residents of California and other U.S. states with privacy laws have the right to know, correct and delete their personal information and to opt out of its sale or sharing (we do neither). We will not treat you differently for exercising these rights.
To make a request, email info@right-hook.com. We may need to confirm your identity, and we reply within 30 days (45 days where U.S. state law allows). If you are in the EEA, UK or Switzerland, you can also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
The site is served over HTTPS, and access to inquiries is limited to the people who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect what you share with us.
Children
This site is meant for businesses and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect their personal information.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Significant changes will be highlighted on the site.
